Unveiling the Privacy Concerns of Windows 11 Recall

Microsoft recently announced a new powerful feature in their Operating system(Windows 11), That called Windows 11: Recall, a powerful new feature in preview, promises to revolutionize productivity by letting you search your entire PC experience, from documents and websites to images, with just a few words. Sounds like a dream come true for productivity, right? But with great power comes great responsibility, and in this case, the responsibility lies in understanding the potential privacy implications of Windows 11 Recall. as it takes screenshots of everything on your computer every few seconds, storing the information for AI to analyze for three months.

How it Works

This features allow users to use multiple AI models on their system concurrently. So it will analyze and understand the your context you are frequently used from each of the snapshot stored locally on the computer with help of NPU and Copilot+. Then AI create a digital photographic memory of you. That would be searchable thought your timeline.

Microsoft team says, this feature requires 256 GB storage capacity and you need at least 50 GB of space free, and this snapshot capture automatically pauses once the device has less than 25 GB of disk space. But I think, If you are using your system frequently, this might be increased allocating more storage.

We can benefit from this functionality in many more ways. For example, increased output, simple content retrieval, user-friendliness, customization, and offline accessibility. like a great deal more. However, benefits are unimportant for the topic I choose.
